16 New Burlington Place

ACHIEVEMENTS

Successful resolution of the dispute between the two parties in question, such that an amicable agreement was reached in order to progress the handover process, ensuring a more fruitful relationship between the landlord and tenant teams.

Focus FM had undertaken a review of the recent Cat B works undertaken at 16 New Burlington Place, with a view to verify the claims of suspected contamination of the landlord’s water systems by the tenants’ contractors during their Cat B installation works.

For this review we undertook a detailed survey of the installation in the tenant’s demise and a desktop review of the maintenance logs and water treatment results sheets and reported to our client, the building management team, of our findings.

The report identified various errors with the Cat B fit out installation such that it was deemed to be non-compliant with Building Regulations. The report had also identified that the tenant’s fit out contractors could not be held to account for the water treatment issues being experienced in the building.

We then attended a meeting with the landlord’s building management team and the tenant team, where an amicable resolution was achieved between the two parties and subsequent handover of the Cat B fit out works could be achieved.

The client was so impressed with the detail of the report that they stated that they will use this review as a template for their procedures moving forward.
